Flower Transport System

Flower Transport System

In 2011, Red Lands Roses decided to be among the first rose farms in Kenya to invest in a cable flower bucket transport system. The traditional motorized system was discontinued, hence stopping all source of pollution (petroleum fumes and noise). Cables have been installed across the greenhouses and the paths directing to the pre-cool store.

This has greatly enhanced the logistic easiness of transporting the stems from the greenhouses after harvest to the cold stores. It has also improved the quality of the flowers by not only reducing the time for the flowers to be in water (less than 4 minutes) but also to be cooled (less than 20 minutes). This is again another investment geared towards improving the quality and beauty of our roses.
