Like all farms in the world, green waste is produced daily by the farm. In our endeavor to make uses of all resources, including waste, the old foliage, stems or roses plants are shredded daily and brought to a well designed compost site. The green matter is piled in beds, aerated and moisture, until a natural compost is made over 4 to 6 months. This highly fertile compost is then used for our “shamba”, the garden of the farm which produces organically grown vegetables, or sold to neighbor farms, coffee or vegetable for uses in their fields. All proceeds go to Red Lands Roses Welfare Society.
